MICPA Honors Michigan CPAs for Service
DGN Partner Shelly K. Bedford, CPA, MST received honors at the 2014 Annual Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants Awards Dinner for her service as chairperson for the state’s Agribusiness Task Force.
The event was a celebration of those who have made an impact in their industry and in the community. Approximately 60 Michigan CPAs were honored, including Governor Rick Snyder who received the Outstanding CPA in Government Impact Award. Ms. Bedford was one of only two CPAs from the northern half of Michigan to be recognized.
MICPA President and CEO Peggy Dzierzawski said, “On behalf of the MICPA, its board of directors and its staff, I want to thank all of our members who have worked tirelessly in the past year, and throughout their careers, to give back to the accounting profession. We are very appreciative for all they have done.”
Shelly Bedford joined Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in 1996 and became a partner in 2006. An international and multistate tax specialist, she oversees the DGN tax department and provides tax planning for individuals and businesses. Ms. Bedford is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Michigan Association of CPAs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Central Michigan University and a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Denver.
