DGN Names New Firm Partners, Managers, Supervisors
Dennis, Gartland and Niergarth has promoted five associates to new management positions, including Shelly Ashmore and Jim Taylor as new firm partners, effective January 1, 2014.
Shelly A. Ashmore, CPA, MST has been promoted from senior tax manager to partner. Ashmore joined DGN in 1994 and has more than 20 years experience in public accounting. She has significant experience in the oil and gas industry and specializes in partnership taxation, mergers and acquisitions, business succession and estate planning. Ashmore is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Michigan Association of CPAs, the Council of Petroleum Accountants Society and Leadership Grand Traverse Alumni. She earned a Master of Science in Taxation from Grand Valley State University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Ferris State University.
James M. Taylor, CPA, CFP® has been promoted from tax manager to partner. He joined Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in 2006 and specializes in planning and tax services for business and individuals with additional expertise in manufacturing. Taylor is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Michigan Association of CPAs. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in organizational management from the University of Michigan, a Master of Accounting from Oakland University, and designation as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional.
Kelly J. LaLonde, CPA, MBA has been promoted from supervisor to manager. She joined Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in 2003 and provides expertise in DGN’s “BizTek” department and on DGN’s QuickBooks team to businesses, nonprofit organizations and consulting clients. LaLonde is a member of the American Institute for CPAs and the Michigan Association of CPAs. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Roger Williams University (Rhode Island), a Master of Business Administration from Lawrence Technological University and Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor – Advanced certification.
Krin T. Clary, CPA, MSA has been promoted from audit senior to supervisor. Clary joined DGN in 2007 and was promoted to audit senior in 2010 prior to her current position. A member of the audit department and government/nonprofit team, she brings experience auditing a range of governmental, nonprofit and for profit organizations. Clary is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Michigan Association of CPAs and serves on the MACPA Governmental Accounting and Auditing Task Force. She holds a Master of Science in Accountancy from Western Michigan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from Grand Valley State University.
Laura E. Reinhold, CPA has been promoted from senior accountant to supervisor. Reinhold joined DGN in 2005 and works with individuals and businesses with an emphasis on tax planning and IRS representation. She is a member of the Michigan Association of CPAs and the American Association of CPAs. Laura holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Ferris State University and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
