Aaron J. Mansfield Earns Certified Fraud Examiner Designation
Aaron J. Mansfield, CPA, an audit manager at Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in Traverse City, has earned Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation by the internationally recognized Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
CFEs are knowledgeable in the four areas critical to the fight against fraud: Fraudulent Financial Transactions, Fraud Prevention and Deterrence, Legal Elements of Fraud and Fraud Investigation. CFEs have the ability to: Examine data and records to detect and trace fraudulent transactions; interview suspects to obtain information and confessions; write investigation reports; advise clients as to their findings; testify at trial; be well versed in the law as it relates to fraud and fraud investigations; and, identify the underlying factors that motivate individuals to commit fraud.
The ACFE is the world’s largest anti-fraud organization and leading provider of anti-fraud training and education. Certification is awarded to professionals who meet a stringent set of criteria, including character, education and experience, as well as passed a rigorous exam.
Mansfield joined DGN in 1999 and is currently an audit manager with the firm. He is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Michigan Association of CPAs and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Aaron earned a Bachelor of Arts with emphasis in Accounting from Alma College, designation as a Certified Fraud Examiner through the ACFE and Global Finance Certification from the VanAndel Center at Grand Valley State University. He serves on the MACPA Automobile Dealers Task Force and is a graduate of Leadership Grand Traverse.
