Stephen D. Gallagher, CPA, PC Merges with DGN
Local firm joins locally owned Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth on December 1
The accounting firm of Stephen D. Gallagher, CPA, PC has merged with Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth in Traverse City. Gallagher joined DGN as a partner, effective December 1, 2009.
“I am very pleased to be joining Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth,” Gallagher said. “This is a wonderful opportunity to merge with another locally owned CPA firm and to provide more services to our clients.”
Gallagher brings an extensive background in tax and accounting to DGN specifically in the agribusiness industry. His area of expertise includes vineyards, wineries, fruit and dairy farms. He also has experience in the automotive, construction, restaurant and retail industries.
“Steve’s experiences and knowledge with farms, wineries and business is outstanding,” said Jim Shumate, managing partner at Dennis, Gartland & Niergarth. “We look forward to working together.”
A Traverse City native, Gallagher graduated from Northwestern Michigan College. He then earned a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Ferris State University and designation as a Certified Public Accountant from the State of Michigan. He is a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the National Association of Tax Professionals.
Within the community, he and his wife, Renae, are active with the nonprofit organization, Michael’s Place.
